Chocolate Goat Milk Ice Cream Recipe
Goat milk ice cream is delicious!
Sometimes goat milk can have a strong “goat-y” flavor. Some people like it and some people don’t.
We have dairy goats. I’ve seen the reaction on some people’s faces when they tried it for the first time.
With this ice cream recipe, you won’t subject yourself or your friends to that strong goat flavor.
Finding Goat Milk
If you don’t have the luxury of your own goats in your own backyard, don’t worry! Goat milk is easy to find.
Most grocery stores stock Goat Milk.
It’s right beside the regular cow’s milk in my grocery store, but some stores may stock it in the alternative milk section.
Whatever the case, it shouldn’t be hard to find. Goat Milk is often tolerated by some people whose body cannot handle dairy.
I love having my own supply of goat milk right out my back window.
As an avid ice cream maker, I can never have enough milk, folks.

Making Variations of This Ice Cream
This is a recipe for Chocolate Chocolate Goat Milk Ice Cream, but you could easily make it into plain vanilla. Simply leave the chocolate out.
I really like the texture of this ice cream. It is soft and silky.
This was my first taste of ice cream with goat milk.
I thought it was delicious.
Serving Tip:
If you want to add a little bit of flair to your scoop of ice cream, you can garnish with shaved chocolate.

Chocolate Goat Milk Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup goat milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 ts[ vanilla
- 1 /2 cup chocolate chips optional
Instructions
- Mix the cocoa, sugar, and salt together in a medium mixing bowl.
- Whisk in the goat milk and stir until sugar is completely dissolved and cocoa is blended.
- Stir in heavy cream and vanilla.
- Pour into ice cream maker.
- Churn about 15-20 minutes or according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Add chocolate chips, if desired.
- Churn an additional 5 minutes.
- Enjoy this treat made from goats milk.
Chocolate Goat Milk Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup goat milk
- 2 egg yolks lightly beaten
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 /2 cup chocolate chips optional
Instructions
- Stir cocoa, sugar, and salt together in a saucepan, and add goat milk and whisk.
- Over medium heat, warm this mixture until it begins to bubble.
- Beat egg yolks.
- Pour the goats milk mixture over the egg yolks and whisk.
- Pour back into the saucepan.
- Stirring constantly, heat this egg mixture over low-medium heat until it thickens and begins to stick to the back of your spoon.
- Place in fridge until chilled (about 3 hours).
- Stir in the whipping cream and vanilla.
- Churn in your ice cream machine about 15-20 minutes or according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Add chocolate chips if desired.
- Churn an additional 5 minutes.
- Enjoy!
