Banana, Banana, Banana SPLIT
by Serving-Ice-Cream
What You’ll Need
A group of children
An open area large enough for them to sit in a circle and run around the circle
No Set Up Required
How to Play
Have children sit in a circle.
Choose one child to be “it.”
Have this child walk around the circle, tapping each child lightly on the head, saying “Banana” every time he taps someone.
Finally, the child taps someone on the head and says “Banana SPLIT” … and then splits, running around the circle as fast as he can!
The person who he tapped on the head and said “Banana SPLIT,” stands up and chases him around the circle.
The goal is to be the first to sit in the now open spot in the circle.
Whoever sits in the spot first, remains there and the other child continues the game by walking around the circle, tapping heads, and saying, “Banana, Banana, Banana SPLIT!”
Variation
Older children enjoy tackling each other on their way around the circle.
If you do decide to do this, be sure to offer supervision and be sure to take the proper precautions to make sure no one gets hurt.
Be sure to play the tackle version on a soft ground surface.
