Easy Ginger Ice Cream Recipe
Here’s an easy ginger ice cream recipe that’ll be the perfect complement to any hot fruit dessert.
Easy to make and, oh, so good! Pair it with a tasty dessert and you’ve got yourself a guest pleaser.
The Ginger
Ginger is a fun and versatile spice.
Not many spices can compete with it for its versatility.
It is beloved in many different cultures.
You’ll find it in many different cuisines and a wide variety of dishes.
It provides the flavor to main dishes, sides, and desserts.
You can use it to spice up meat, vegetables, fruit, breads, and, yes, dairy too.
Kinda crazy, eh?
What would we do without ginger?
The Flavor
Hmmm…how to describe ginger?
I think the best way to describe an intense ginger taste would be biting.
It’s hot, spicy, and slightly sweet. I think sharp is another good way to describe it.
But that’s when it’s intense, we want to create a hint of that flavor in ice cream – not burn your mouth with its intensity.
Adding Ginger
Ginger is a strong spice. A little bit goes a long way.
Since ginger adds a strong flavor, when adding this spice to your ice cream…be careful not to add too much!
Add a bit and combine well. Taste the ice cream base and then add more if needed.
Serving Tip
Serve this ice cream alongside your favorite hot fruit dessert…even add a little whip cream if you’d like!
It’s the perfect complement for pecan pie or cherry cobbler!
