Lavender Ice Cream Recipe
This lavender ice cream recipe is nice and easy.
If you’re up for something unique and want to take your taste buds for a ride – you should try this recipe.
The Taste
Lavender? In ice cream? Really?
Is this going to taste like creamy frozen soap?
It really does taste – well – floral, I guess!
I’ve heard it all guys.
People have complained that this flavor tastes like soap, perfume, air freshener, or laundry detergent. This poor flavor has had a lot of insults hurled its way.
But is it warranted?
One of the most popular ice cream flavors is peppermint. But – if you get that flavor wrong – you end up with an ice cream that tastes like toothpaste. I know. I’ve made it.
So just like you have to be careful when you make peppermint ice cream, you’ll want to be careful that you don’t make the lavender too strong and make it taste like a bowl of potpourri!
People make and love peppermint ice cream, so despite the dangers of messing up the flavor of this ice cream – don’t let that hinder you from giving this flavor a try.
People really do rave about this ice cream, folks!
I say, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
The Lavender
For this recipe, obviously, you need some lavender.
You’ll need dried edible lavender flowers.
I’m sure that won’t surprise you that you can’t find them in your regular grocery store.
The best places to look are natural stores, herb stores, and some gourmet stores.
You can also find edible lavender online.
After you’ve located the lavender, you’re ready to make this ice cream!
Serving Tip
Serve this ice cream with a rounded vanilla or almond wafer cookie stuck in the side of one scoop.
