Standard
Batch Size: 1.5 quarts
Most ice cream makers used in homes make a 1 1/2 quart batch of ice cream. With a full batch of homemade ice cream you’ll get ten 1/2 cup servings of ice cream from the Cuisinart Ice 45…but don’t be surprise if you devour more than a half cup of ice cream in one sitting!
Ice Cream Making Time: Makes ice cream in approximately 20 minutes
Cons
One Batch at a Time: Freezer Bowls
Ice cream makers with freezer bowls can only make one batch of ice cream at a time, because by the time the first batch of ice cream is done, the freezer bowl is no longer cold enough to make quality ice cream (If a 1 1/2 quart batch isn’t enough for you or you want to make multiple flavors at one time, you can solve this problem by getting a second freezer bowl).
Freezer Bowl must be refrozen after each batch of ice cream.
Freeze bowl Hours in Advance: Freezer Bowls
When making ice cream with a machine that freezes the ice cream with a freezer bowl, you must plan ahead and place the freezer bowl in the freezer about 16 hours before you make the ice cream. Since you never know when you’ll have a little craving for homemade ice cream, you may as well just store the freezer bowl in the freezer!
Store Freezer Bowl in Freezer: takes up freezer space.
Don’t Store Freezer Bowl in Freezer: must plan ahead and freeze bowl hours before you need it.
The Cuisinart ICE 45, like all Cuisinart appliances, is a quality machine.
